Overview

Crailo State Historic Site is a museum of Colonial New Netherland history in the upper Hudson Valley. Crailo was built in the early eighteenth-century by Hendrick Van Rensselaer, grandson of Kiliaen Van Rensselaer, the First Patroon. Today, Crailo tells the story of the early Dutch inhabitants of the seventeenth-century colony of New Netherland in the new exhibit, "A Sweet and Alien Land: Colony of the Dutch in the Hudson River Valley," as well as through special events and school programs.
