The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) officially launched the sale of its anticipated 2009 Commemorative Calendar at the return of the Half Moon to Corning Riverfront Park on September 19, 2008. The calendar features 13 photographs, representing Albany’s history and culture, selected by a juried panel from contest entries of 250 images. The theme of the calendar celebrates the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s discovery of Albany and is a kick-off to the multitude of events celebrating Albany’s upcoming Quadricentennial. Individual calendars are priced at $20.00 with bulk order discounts applicable to quantity orders greater than 10. Calendars will be available for pick-up at the BID office after October 10, 2008 or can be mailed with an additional charge for shipping and handling. For information about calendar purchase, contact the BID office at 518.465.2143 x18 or visit www.downtownalbany.org to obtain an order form. All calendar proceeds benefit the Downtown Albany BID, a 501 (c) 3 organization, whose mission is to restore, promote and maintain the character and viability of downtown Albany and improve the quality of life and overall image for those who live in, work in and visit the Capital City.
