Albany has always been proven to be a lively sports town!
|
Knowledgeable (incredibly enthusiastic) fans and top-of-the-line facilities are hallmarks of Albany's success.

The Albany River Rats (American Hockey League affiliate team) and the Albany Conquest (Arena Football2 team) both play at the Times Union Center, which also hosts the MAAC Tournament.
Albany is the home of the NY Giants summer training camp with practices and events planned throughout their stay. The area frequently hosts various outstanding high school and collegiate sports championships.
Enjoy great sports facilities and events, four seasons of recreational activities, and beautiful parks and gardens. Take the family out to the ball game, or get up out of the stands and go boating on the Hudson, swimming or waterskiing at any of the area lakes, play a round of golf on warm weather days, or take the short 30 minute drive to Saratoga Race Course during the thoroughbred racing season, (July - September). After the last race, head over to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center or the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway for a late night of non-stop entertainment.

Don't let the cold weather stop you in the winter, get out there and enjoy skating at the Empire State Plaza, snow-shoeing, or skiing at Albany's nearby skiing resorts. Albany holds the ticket for all kinds of sports action! | |
Congratulations to Albany's Siena Saints, 2008 MAAC Men's Basketball Champions!
