Early Life in Albany: A Dutch Fur Trading Town
Program incorporates a student re-enactment, an audio-visual presentation, and an interactive History Mystery Game to detail Henry Hudson's voyage, Native American and Dutch trade, and colonial history and influence on Albany of today. (Grades 2-12) |

Historic Downtown Albany Walking Tour: Guided walking tour follows the footsteps of some of the most important figures in American History. (Grades 3-12)
The Hudson River Way Walking Tour: A guided walking tour of The Hudson River Way, a pedestrian bridge linking historic downtown Albany to the Hudson River. Each of the thirty lampposts along the bridge is painted in a style know as trompe l'oeil and recounts Albany’s diverse history. (Grades 3-12)

Henry Hudson Planetarium:
Twinkle Time: Friendly sun, planets, twinkling stars, and storytelling (Grades PreK – 1)
Wonders of the Universe: Exploration of seasonal constellations, planets, galaxies, and other wonders of the universe. (Grades 2-12)
Follow the North Star and the Underground Railroad: Sky show explores the important role astronomy played in the freedom seekers’ search along the Underground Railroad. (Grades 2-12) Skytellers Program: Native American stories of stars are complemented by current scientific explanations. (Grades 2-5) Stars of the Pharoahs: Exploration of ancient Egypt through astronomy. (Grades 3-12)

Henry Hudson & Friends Historical Puppet Show: Puppetry is used to tell the story of the Hudson River, the Mahicans and Mohawks who lived on its shores, and the historic arrival of Henry Hudson and his crew from Europe in 1609. Students will meet Nawa, a Mahican girl, Anna and Pieter, early Dutch settlers and Henry Hudson. Program also available off-site ~ call for details. Grades preK-1 Unearthing the Hudson Valley: A 400 Year Story Through Archeology: Students learn about the special tools and techniques used by archeologists to unearth history. Program includes an audio-visual presentation of the excavation of Fort Orange, handling of authentic artifacts uncovered by archeologists at several local sites and participation in a sample dig (weather-permitting). (Grades 3-8) Special Pricing: $4 per student An Archeology Discovery Trunk is available to teachers to complement this program. Call for details. Program made possible by a New York State Legislative Grant and by Teaching the Hudson Valley, an education initiative ofthe National Park Service and the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area in partnership with the Hudson River Valley Institute at Marist College and the Hudson River Estuary Program/ New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Half Moon: Two-part program at the Albany Visitors Center and aboard The Half Moon. Students re-enact the story of Henry Hudson’s journey up the Hudson River, view an audio-visual presentation and learn about life aboard the ship during Henry Hudson’s voyage. (Grades 3-12) Most appropriate for 4th and 7th grades due to its strong emphasis on NYS history. |

Two-part program at the Albany Visitors Center and aboard the Albany Aqua Ducks. Students re-enact the story of Henry Hudson’s journey up the Hudson River, discover what life was like in early Albany, and take a guided tour of Albany’s historic downtown and the beautiful Hudson River.
