| 2010 AAU KARATE NATIONALS  June 28th-July 3rd Albany, NY WELCOME! An event like the 2010 AAU Karate Nationals is a perfect reason for your family to get away together and explore all that Albany has to offer to travelers since being discovered in 1609. You will find there is more to see and do than you ever expected. From museums to shopping malls, theaters to theme restaurants, farms to memorials, Albany offers days and nights filled with a wide variety of places for people of all ages to experience and enjoy. Make time to visit some of Albany's non-traditional tourist sites, too. Attractions extend from downtown to many places worth-the-drive from wherever you are. We are closer than you think, easier to get to than you would believe, and there truly is something for everyone. North Pearl Street will be shut down between Pine St. and Sheridan Avenue, from Noon - 9pm for this family, non-alcoholic event, and will include craft/art vendors, carnival games, carnival rides and local music. The City of Albany, the Times Union Center, and the Albany hospitality community welcome you to the 2010 AAU Karate Nationals. As a team, the AAU and AC-TKO will receive credit back to their association by having competitors and their families staying in the designated host and overflow hotels. A short drive west of Albany is Cooperstown, New York. Cooperstown is home to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum, and The Farmer's Museum. North of Albany in the Lake George and Adirondack Mountain region is outlet shopping, boat cruises, horseback riding, and The Great Escape/Splashwater Kingdom, a Six Flags Amusement Park. South of Albany in the Hudson Valley Region and Catskills, you can visit the West Point Military Academy, sample the cuisine at the Culinary Institute of America, and tour President's homes.
