The Organization/Mission

The Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau strengthens the awareness of Albany County as a convention and visitor destination, attracting individuals, families and businesses from around the world to increase revenue and stimulate economic development and growth for the community.

Purposes of the Organization/Vision

To offer convention and tour planners information and assistance in organizing conventions and tours including accommodations, meeting and banquet facilities, attractions and tours, transportation, registration, and other services as needed, including all related brochures and materials.

To actively solicit conventions, group tours, and individual travel to the county through retention of a full-time professional staff.

To sponsor aggressive programs of work and stimulate activities which will provide for increased economic development and employment in the county through increased conventions and tourism.

To provide business leadership and effective coordination of all interested parties in solving problems related to the area visitor industry and in initiating constructive action.

To create a broad understanding and appreciation of the great opportunities for development in the convention and tourism industry while promoting the advantages and assets of the community within the area as well as in the state, region and nation.
